The Best Custom Boat Lines, Custom Colored Ropes, & Special Assemblies made to Your Specifications
We custom assemble all types of Mooring Lines, Dock Lines, Anchor Lines, Hawsers, Towing Lines, Towing Hawsers, Towing Bridles, Winch Lines, and Recovery Tow Ropes using the best materials and methods the industry has to offer. All our lines are custom made-to-order per the customer’s specifications. Please consider the information below and utilize the worksheets to help specify your Towing Hawser. Working Load Considerations: For Ocean and Commercial Towing Applications the W.L. is preferred to be equal to the fully loaded weight of the towed vessel, but for large vessels, ships, and equipment this may not be practical and too expensive. For lighter duty applications, practicality, pleasure marine, lake applications, storage concerns, and or budgetary considerations the W.L. is often chosen to be 1/2, 1/3, or some other fraction of the fully loaded weight of the towed vessel. We encourage the owner to consult with the manufacturer, insurance company, engineer, and or other authorities of jurisdiction as to provide their recommendations and industry guidelines. The vessel manufacture may have to provide an engineered calculation as to what the W.L.L. should be for their specific vessel, ship, equipment, and under what circumstances (towing speed for example).

Pictured above are two NAVSEA Rope Couplings sized for 3-1/4” Diameter Double Braid Rope to be used as a Tow Line / Tow Hawser Line. In this case the USN ship sent their existing rope couplings to be re-used spliced to our new double braid nylon rope. The overall
length of the completed tow line = 600ft continuous. Use a NATO Link or Detachable Link to connect the rope coupling to another tow line using the bolted connections.
![large diameter splice](https://denverrope.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/large-diameter-splice.png)
Performing the splices on large diameter lines is often a two man job. To secure the bury of the splice we whip the circumference of the rope at the throat of the splice down the line several inches.
